Privacy policy

Who we are

FakerForge ("we", "us") provides tools for generating synthetic test data, seeding databases, and mocking APIs. This policy covers fakerforge.com, the FakerForge web app, the data API, the MCP server, and the FakerForge CLI.

What we collect

Account details

Your name, email address, and a hashed password. If you sign in with Google or GitHub, we receive your name, email address, and account identifier from that provider. We never receive your Google or GitHub password.

What you give us to work with

Schemas, migrations, and descriptions you upload or paste; the configuration you set for each table and column; mock APIs, endpoints, and scenarios you create; and messages you send to the in-app assistants.

FakerForge is built for synthetic data. Please don't upload real personal data, production dumps, or secrets. Schema structure is all we need.

Usage and billing

Counts of databases created, AI tokens used, API and mock requests, and your plan and subscription status. Payments are handled by our payment providers; we don't store your full card details.

Technical data

IP address, browser type, and request logs needed to run the service, keep it secure, and apply rate limits. We use cookies to keep you signed in. We don't use advertising cookies.

How we use it

• To run your account and the features you use, including parsing schemas and generating data.
• To enforce plan limits, process payments, and send receipts and subscription notices.
• To send product emails you need, such as password resets and job notifications.
• To prevent abuse, debug problems, and improve FakerForge.

We don't sell your personal information.

Services we rely on

We share only what each service needs to do its job:

• AI providers, such as OpenAI, to parse schemas, suggest column data, and power the assistants. They receive the schema text and messages involved in that request.
• Payment providers, Polar and Paystack, to process subscriptions.
• Sign-in providers, Google and GitHub, when you choose to sign in with them.
• Hosting and email providers that run our servers and deliver our emails.

How long we keep it

We keep your account data and schemas while your account is open. Export files are deleted from our servers once you download them. When you delete your account from Settings, we delete your account, schemas, mocks, and generated data, except records we must keep for legal or accounting reasons.

Your choices and rights

• Update your name and email in Settings.
• Delete schemas, mocks, and API tokens at any time.
• Delete your whole account from Settings.
• Ask us for a copy of your data, or to correct or delete it, through the contact page.

Depending on where you live, you may have further rights under laws such as the GDPR. We'll honour them.

Security

Passwords are hashed, traffic is encrypted in transit, and API and MCP tokens can be revoked whenever you like. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong, unique password.

Children

FakerForge is not intended for anyone under 16, and we don't knowingly collect their data.

Changes

If we change this policy, we'll update the date above. For significant changes, we'll let you know by email or in the app before they take effect.
